What's the story?
Maxie Solters was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. She began her acting career at the ripe old age of 5, when she played Gretl in a local production of The Sound of Music. From that moment on, it was nearly impossible to stop her from performing. As a child, Maxie could usually be found staging full productions in her living room and often playing all the parts by herself.
Maxie continued acting through high school and attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts her junior year. She received her bachelors from the University of Southern California School of Theatre.
During Maxie’s freshman year at USC, she was cast as Sophie in the Trojan vision sitcom, Birnkrant 616. She was a regular on the show for it’s two year run. Maxie also worked as a host for R.M.X., a music video and entertainment news show.
Around this time, Maxie was cast to interview Charlize Theron for MTVU’s 15 Minutes With… the show ran nationwide.
Maxie served as the coordinator of V-Day USC and produced and performed in The Vagina Monologues for two years. In 2009, She organized a V-Day event which included a performance of the show followed by a talk with author, Eve Ensler and Dr. Denis Mukwege of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The event was hosted by Rosario Dawson and was one of the stops for V-Day’s Five City Tour, Turning Pain Into Power. After graduating, Maxie founded V-Day Studio City and continues her tradition of The Vagina Monologues each year to raise awareness and funds to stop violence against women and girls.
Maxie was also very involved with the Women’s Theatre Organization at USC, a group that strove to give women a voice in all aspects of theatre. She was on the casting team and produced and acted in several productions.
Maxie is currently living in Hollywood, CA. She continues her work as coordinator for V-Day Studio City and is an active member of the Open Fist Theatre Company. Maxie is studying at John Rosenfeld Studios and UCB. She works at Scoop Marketing while she pursues her career.
Maxie recently created and starred in season one of her web-series, CLIMAX! The Series. It's a provocative comedy about a sex therapist who enhances her clients' sexual energy through wacky and unconventional methods (mostly involving vibrators). The show is being distributed globally in partnership with Adam & Eve Adult Store.
Most importantly…Maxie really likes laughing. And fro-yo.
